Schedule 2010
World-Class Rugby, First-Class Entertainment – The Friendly Sevens The SCC International Rugby Sevens tournament is one of the world's premier rugby tournaments. Featuring top sides from around the world and held on Singapore’s famous Padang, this event in its 63rd year. 5th to 7th November 2010 – The Padang Rugby is known for a lot of things: hard hits, tough players, vicious mauls, and of course, beer. But bouncy castles? Airbrush tattoos? Rock bands? Check, check and check. That is, of course, when the event in question is the Singapore Cricket Club’s annual International Sevens Rugby tournament. The 63rd annual staging of this premier sporting event will feature clubs competing for the Ablitt Cup. Teams will be arriving from all over the world including South Africa, New Zealand, the US, the UK, Fiji and many Asian countries. The action on the field will definitely be hot and the action on the sidelines promises not to disappoint either. A variety of food and beverage stalls will satisfy outsized appetites and a children’s play area will let little ones blow off almost as much steam as the athletes will be releasing on the field. Tickets cost only $50 for the weekend for adults and $25 for children. The sporting action is scheduled to run from dawn until dusk and the party has been known to charge along until midnight or later. With world-class athletes, fast-paced Sevens rugby and top-notch entertainment, the weekend promises a lively festival-like atmosphere with good sportsmanship, good food and great fun.
